Phidiana hiltoni
Phidiana hiltoni
Near-hatching veliger. Like Doto amyra, this species develops from relatively large eggs and hatches at a later stage of development, ready to leave its shell and metamorphose into a juvenile within a day or two of hatching. Right lateral view; shell about 0.25 mm long. In this photo you can see that the eyespot actually has a small spherical lens on top of the black pigment.
